The Emergency Medical Team (EMT) of Universitas Brawijaya (UB), comprising members from the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), Student Health Services (LAKESMA), and the Voluntary Corps (KSR), was deployed to respond to the Mount Semeru eruption disaster. The team departed for the affected area on 20 November 2025 at 10:00 PM (WIB).
A total of 14 EMT UB personnel are involved in this humanitarian mission, consisting of one physician and doctoral student of the Medical Sciences Study Program, dr. Aurick Yudha Nagara, Sp.EM, KPEC, two drivers, and 11 students from various units within EMT UB. In addition, the team is reinforced by two volunteers from Rescue 020 KNDJH, who possess expertise in search and rescue operations.
The deployment of this team reflects Universitas Brawijaya’s concern and commitment to supporting disaster response efforts, particularly in providing emergency medical services, health support, and humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the eruption.
Throughout the mission, EMT UB will coordinate with relevant authorities and field partners to ensure that the services provided are effective and aligned with on-site needs. The presence of this team is expected to help alleviate the burden on affected communities and contribute to post-disaster recovery efforts.
